Speakers included James Anderson, who took over leadership after Hampton's killing, and longtime Panther activist John Crear, along with a member of Carl’s family who expressed deep gratitude for the continued support.
In attendance were representatives from:
-
All Neighborhoods Powerfully United (ANPU)
-
Huey P. Newton Gun Club Houston Chapter
-
And other local grassroots organizers and freedom fighters
The Cuban and Palestinian flags flew behind Carl’s grave — not as decoration, but as declarations of global solidarity.
I’ll be covering this afternoon’s march and community events in Third Ward. I left with a great sense of what everyone here spoke of which I'll put into much greater detail later y'all I'm at the computer here writing and I need to be getting ready to continue this story. I encourage everyone to go out and do that. More to follow.
